Fit Stanley & The Truth To Being Fit!

Tuesday August 23, 2011

Thank you again to Kris Beal from The Heart and Humor of Being Human for my visit from Fit Stanley! Again for those that missed it, this all started with MizFit and her Fit Stanley Project and Fit Stanley and Fit Stella but Kris liked it so much that she cloned him & sent him off to a few of us!!! See pics but this post & all the others will be posted also at the Fit Stanley site. Tornado (MizFit’s daughter) made Fit Stanley & wrote the message. I LOVE the message, of course!

How did that cookie get there on a Fit Adventure? Not too worry, I had plans to work that off a cookie almost as big as Fit Stanley!!

There was healthy food along the way too!

Fit Stanley got a little nervous when the oldest granddaughter wanted to teach him how to dive!!!

But as you can see, he did great & big smiles from Fit Stanley, oldest granddaughter & youngest grandson!

Fit Stanley was rewarded with some R&R and video game playing!

After all the fun, it was time for an after dinner walk & youngest grandson thought Fit Stanley needed a rest on the fire hydrant. :-)

A little sleep is good for the bod & mind!

So, ya think that was enough for Fit Stanley’s adventures? NOT! Ms. Fit at 53, close to 54, had to take him to the gym for some muscle building!

First off, I had to let him know that being healthy is not selfish. He is worth it!!!

We had to do some incline arm & chest workouts, of course!

Kettlebells sure mix it up & challenge us – yahoo!

Got to build those legs so some 45 degree leg pressing was at hand!

Look how happy Fit Stanley is after the workout. He loved it! I felt so proud that I had to take a pic with him! ;-)

Fit Stanley did so well that I crowned him a Fitness Warrior!

Hope ya all enjoyed my adventures with him!

Now, if you want Fit Stanley to come visit you, please let me know in a comment over on my blog!!

Lake Tahoe FitVenture with Krazy Kris

Just as my hopes for a workout buddy were dwindling (i.e., I’m gonna have to motivate myself), a mysterious package arrived and Fit Stanley appeared!

The BF+ was quite skeptical and thought I had completely lost my mind, but eventually he joined in the fun and became quite fond of the little guy. We had a lot of fun at home, playing with the nephews, swimming some laps, and just being active.

But the big adventure was about to happen with our road trip to Lake Tahoe!

A view from the yoga mat - yep - we did yoga and mild exercises every morning under the trees.

Stanley hung out in my pack but came out for the occasional photo op.

Fit Stanley's waterproof (laminate) attire worked out well in the kayak.

After two hours of paddling, we arrived at this peaceful spot.

Yes, even my tough BF+ asked for a pic with Fit Stanley. Despite his burly appearance, he's really quite fond of the little guy.

We even rode through the mountains, and this “greenhorn” officially graduated to “beginner” on some single tracks in the woods. It was quite lovely, and despite my fear and questionable skills, we made it to some lovely spots.

We practiced our wickedly wild bike skills to make our way to Fallen Leaf Lake.

I’ve had SO MUCH FUN with Fit Stanley that I’ve discovered his identical twins and will be sending them out to 5 lucky folks – come on by and let me know what you would do with Fit Stanley!

Kris is a wannabe fitness/culinary guru who can neither cook nor jog. You can find her on The Heart and Humor of Being Human where she learns to mince basil and do kettlebell swings while tweeting, all while trying to find some balance in this distracting world. You can also find her on twitter @krazy_kris.

Fit Stella and MAMA SWEAT!

We like to start our day with a little yoga.
We play outside at every opportunity and Fit Stella knows all about playouts.
Climbing is another way we get active around here. Fit Stella reached new heights.
The quality of our day is measured in the need for a bath.
Exercising our mind is important to us, too. We read every day. I was excited to see Fit Stella reading Hot Sweaty Mamas: Five Secrets to Life as a Fit Mom. She knows a good book when she sees one.
We ended the week with a family bike ride.
But we know how to kick back around here, too.
And eat well. Mama Sweat is always looking for a healthy dish the kids will eat up complaint free. This is a hit with everyone, including Fit Stella: Creamy Basil Pesto Coleslaw.
Now it’s time for Fit Stella to get fit with another family. You can follow her adventures over at http://fitstanley.com. Enjoy your travels Fit Stella. We’ll miss you!

Fit Stella at Average Moms Wear Capes!

I  don’t know if you’ve heard of a little project going on over at Mizfit’s place, but we are hosting a guest at our house and her name is Fit Stella!

Fitstella

Fit Stella is a lot like Flat Stanley (if you’ve ever heard of him) only she’s a “she” and she works out more. She also loves healthy snacks.

Stella loves nectarines.

And I don’t know about Flat Stanley’s eating habits but Fit Stella gives us the stink eye when we talk about fast food around here. Well not really, she’s always smiling, but we all know that we won’t get fit eating fast food, right? And she reminds us of that which is good.

She also loves Eggbeaters.

As soon as Fit Stella arrived, by the way, the show began.

Move over, Statue of Liberty, my 5 year old is now crushin’ on Fit Stella! He’s already given her his baseball card.

He struts by her all macho-like and he talks about her (and to her) like she’s a real “she.” I’ve already warned him that Fit Stella likes to travel and will be going pretty soon to someone else’s house but I don’t think he’s actually prepared for that. He’s already too attached. (I have now seen it all.)

They wonder about how Fit Stella was made and I explained she was colored in by another 5 year old nicknamed “Tornado,” and that was really special. It’s one thing to be told about healthy eating from mom, but from your peers and from a little plastic girl named Stella, it’s a whole ‘nother story.

After our healthy breakfast yesterday, Fit Stella had a swim lesson. She loves the water.

Today she’s going to the beach.

She sort of gave them the stink eye when the kids had Fruit Loops for breakfast so She helped us prepare a better lunch.

Thanks Fit Stella!
